Incumbent, Running Mate
Lose in Berlin Borough

When the votes were counted in a hard-fought election in Berlin Borough within the local Democrat Party, the incumbent and his running mate were both defeated in the primary election.

Christopher Wilhelm and Victor R. Lombardi defeated incumbent Counciman Jim Chojnacki and his running make William Donnelly.    The unofficial vote according to the county website is as follows:  Wilhelm - 215; Lombardi - 199; Chojnacki - 128; and Donnelly - 113.

The two Democratic winners will face Republicans Dennis T. chance (238) and James N. Bilella II (225) in November's general election.

No Changes In Berlin
Township This November

It looks like there will be no changes in Berlin Township this November since Phyllis Jeffries Magazzu (104) won the Mayor's spot and Thomas DiGangi (97) and Jerome McIntosh (99) won seats for Council.  All three were unopposed in the primary.

There were no GOP candidates listed on the ballot and their appears to be no write-in votes in Tuesday's election.

Vote totals are unofficial according to the county website..

Borough Democrats
Have Primary Fight

The Berlin Borough Democrats have a primary fight on their hands for the June 2 primary.  Four candidates are running for the right to fill two seats in the November general election.

Running are incumbent Councilman Jim Chojnacki running with first time candidate William Donnelly.  They are running against challengers Victor R. Lombardi and Christopher Wilhelm.

The two Democratic winners will face Republicans Dennis T. Chance and James N. Bilella II in November.  The two Republicans are running unopposed.

Councilman Stephan Clyde is not seeking re-election.

Township Candidates Run
Unopposed in Primary

All of the candidates running in the June 2 Democrat primary are running unopposed.

The Democrats are running Phyllis JeffriesMagazzu for Mayor and Thomas DiGangi  and Jerome McIntosh for Council.

No petitions were filed by the Republicans so it appears that the Democrats will be running unopposed in November.
